weekend finds, part 2

This is a continuation of last Saturday's post about my day out with the girls.
We spent the afternoon in Snohomish looking at antiques.
My favorite store (and I've been to almost all of them)
is Antique Station right on 1st street. It's huge, two stories,
and best of all...their prices are so much better than the other stores!
I did some comparisons and some other places had things marked at double the price.
Plus they wrapped all of our things and offered to keep it behind the counter
so we could come back for it when we were done shopping.
Anyways, on to the goods!

I picked up a couple books.
I chose the one on the left based on the title and the colors.
It's an old King County Library book.
It's a photographic history of American architecture.
Turns out you can judge a book by its cover!
The one on the right I chose based on what was inside...

Really cute illustrations!

And silly quotes from the 50's :)

Of course I had to add a couple Pyrex bowls to my collection...
but they're small ones so it's ok, right?

I finally found a cheap Brownie!
I've been wanting one for ages and this one was a bargain.

Isn't it cute? I love it when I find a wishlist item.

Another wishlist item I found was this cake cover.
I wanted one without the fancy glass plate, and finally found one.
Way cheaper that way! I love looking at this on my kitchen table.
(I used it for my strawberry muffins earlier in the week)

And the grand finale, this flour sack mounted on a wood frame.
At first I was drawn to the design and the low price,
but once I got it home I did some research and realized
this was even cooler than I originally thought.
Fisher Mills is a Seattle company started in 1911.
The Fisher family also started KOMO and Fisher scones!
It's nice to have a little piece of Seattle history hanging in my kitchen.
It looks good too.

That's it for this adventure. I'm so happy with all of my purchases!

  1. I agree about Antique Station. Right there with you on comparing the prices at other places. Remind me to show you an awesome little entertaining book that came from my grandparents house.
