Day 30: fresh flowers and painted toes

I have a new Saturday tradition:
yoga at the Magnolia community center with Kelly
lunch or breakfast-for-lunch at Serendipity
buying fresh flowers at the Magnolia farmers market
painting my toenails to match the flowers (that will probably only be this one time)

Day 26: curriculum night aka i need a drink

Curriculum night is over for another year!
I'd feel a lot better if...
- I didn't have 20 journals to grade tonight
- I didn't have badminton practice at 6am
- I knew what the heck I was teaching tomorrow
But hey, it will all work out somehow!
Maybe I should make a category just for posts about drinking.

Day 24: beauty parlor for cats

Dinah spent 5 hours at the beauty parlor today.
She got all of her mats combed out and a little trim around the paws and head.
Yes, she has super long paw hair.
They said there were a ton of calicoes there that day.
They even tried to send me home with Daphne, coincidentally also a Persian calico.

Day 18: banana bread

At 9 tonight I realized I hadn't yet taken a picture.
So, banana bread.
I made it yesterday using Molly Wizenburg's recipe.
It has a cinnamon sugar topping.
Amazing.
Really.
You too can experience this incredible "bread"
(more like cake) by using her recipe.

Today we walked in memory of Sandy Kasner, my good friend's mom.
This is a photo of her high school photo. She was so pretty!

Day 15: favorite magazine

I've been in love with this magazine forever.
Just bought the latest issue...
No, I'm not getting married. But it's still fun to look at!
Especially with a gal pal who is also planning an imaginary wedding :)

Day 13: badminton at 6am

I can't deny that this is a great way to start the day.
Even if it's still dark outside.
These girls are awesome!

Day 12: first forgotten photo

Today was the first day of project 365 that I forgot to take a photo.
I am a terrible person, obviously.
To compensate, I found a photo that I took on this date last year.
It's the next best thing, right?

Days 11: Fall is here

Just the first of many dark rainy afternoons.
This one happens to take place on my street while I drove home from work.
Soon it will be too dark to take pictures at all.

Day 10: walking on Whidbey

Such a great Labor Day weekend! Lots of crabbing, lunch at Toby's, ice cream at Kapaw's, a walk on the Ebey bluff trail, and an amazing dinner of salmon and fresh caught crab.
