Tuck and Robin

Spent the last two days backpacking in the Wenatchee National Forest. It started off nice and flat through a valley, but there was a pretty intense scramble for the last 1.5 miles, made more difficult by the heat and lack of shade. We hiked up to Tuck lake the first day and set up camp.

The second day we hiked up to Robin Lakes, which was absolutely incredible. We saw 11 mountain goats - two families with babies and some loners. One of the females came within 8 feet of us and circled like she wanted a handout. The whole place was just incredible. Definitely worth the climb.

After spending some time with the goats, we made the descent to camp for oatmeal and coffee, then continued down into the valley. Stopped in Roslyn so I could eat at The Brick (I've seen every episode of Northern Exposure...big fan). I ate my whole veggie burger in record time. It was probably pretty gross to watch.

I'm covered in mosquito bites, but overall it was a great hike. The awesome views and all the wildlife we saw (besides bugs) made it worth the climb!
