Last Saturday was gorgeous, so instead of spending
the whole day grading I spent it working in the yard.
the whole day grading I spent it working in the yard.
My first project was building the first of two new raised beds.
This time I used cedar so hopefully they should last a while.
There are definitely imperfections (don't look at my corners...)
but it was hard to get things to line up and screw them together
without extra tools or help. I am happy with it even though
a real craftsman would probably scoff :)
I also shoveled all of the soil out of my old bed into the new one
and broke down that bed plus my old drawers that were now falling apart.
My other project was finding the perfect planter for the front of the house.
Swansons Nursery had an amazing deal where if you buy 3 or more
planters they are all 40% off! Crazy. I bought this nice wood one
plus two cheap ones. I felt like I was stealing from them.
The sale is going on through mid-April, so if you need any containers,
definitely check them out. They have an amazing selection.
I spent way too long looking at plants at Swansons.
They have so many beautiful ones!
I chose a climbing yellow rose and strawberries for this container.
I am so happy I spent the day outside because it has been raining ever since.
It was worth having my whole body ache for days!
