Thursday Happy Thoughts

Just dropping in for a few
Thursday Happy Thoughts

a bean house?! YES
1. This is the most wonderful idea ever - a house to grow beans on.
Can you imagine sitting in a house made out of beans???
Now that is a happy thought. Source.

2. The blog Katie's Pencil Box for her GORGEOUS photography
and the letters her son writes to the baby in her belly like this one.
Adorable and hilarious. "When you're a girl you like to eat pancakes,
mushrooms, and especially cereal." - Max

3. Great ideas like the BEE Act that provide habitats for pollinators
and save money on mowing a maintenance along highways.
Read more about it here and sign the petition (super quick and easy) here!

4. The days are getting longer....invigorating! I've been able
to go on long walks the past two evenings thanks to daylight and a lack of rain.

love it
5. This photo is too funny. Found on Pinterest,
unfortunately without a source :(

This week has been full of negative energy
and I have been part of the cycle.
Time to get positive! Tomorrow is Friday!

Thursday Happy Thoughts

I'm still here!
Just popping in during a little break from the grading marathon
that has been my week. Which brings me to Happy Thought #1...

1. Winter break starts TOMORROW!!! I am so ready.

2. This video. SO FUNNY. I can't stop watching it.

3. This song. It's been stuck in my head.

4. Some of my students made this and have renamed me Ms. Zodle!
These are the same girls who sent me the sweetest email on my birthday.
Things like this remind me why I LOVE my job even though it's hard.

5. A new haircut (finally!) and an appointment tomorrow for some color...
I totally got talked into it but it will fade out and I'm excited for the change!
It will be a surprise...oh and I won't look like Zelda for a while. Shoot!

6. I love this pillow from UO. So cute.

7. This has been floating around Facebook - love it!

8. My BFF Jason comes to town on Sunday!
One of my favorite parts of the holiday season is
getting together with my high school buddies.

9. Ok, this is weird, but my new mascara.

If you need a stocking stuffer this is a good one.

I would change the floor, though.
And have a white farmhouse sink.
But still. Dreamy. Source.

Well, that was a random assortment of things!
I'm also happy that I'll have more time to blog in the next couple weeks...

Birthday Recap

There's nothing like a birthday to make you feel loved by family and friends.
I had the day off work and spent it driving around in the rain,
eating cupcakes, and visiting a couple estate sales.

Later two of my besties a-ha (you saw her guest post I hope?)
and Kelly took me to dinner at Little Water Cantina down the road.

We also fueled up on coffee before heading to the party...
which was held at the Zoo Tavern (classy, I know!).

My mom brought me these beautiful sunflowers.
So many good friends came out to help celebrate!
It was fun to get so many different people together.

Then as a surprise a-ha made me this AMAZING cake.
Isn't it gorgeous??? She even used my favorite color combination.
And all of those cute little owl cookies - delicious and so pretty.

Basically my birthday was lovely and I owe it all to some special people.
THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

P.S. I'm still working on my 27 before 28 list and
would love some suggestions if you have any!

Thursday Happy Thoughts

It's time for another glorious Thursday Happy Thoughts!
I've noticed a definite theme in my picks tonight...see if you notice.

Image of Tree of Life <br><span style="font-weight:normal"><em>by Gary, Aaron & Khairul</em></span>
1. Darn you Lauren for posting about this print!
I want one so bad.

The Mountains are calling and I must go.
2. Definitely feeling this right now. I haven't hiked since September.
Do you ever just CRAVE mountains? Photo source.

3. Planning my trip for the end of the month. Photo source.
We're going to spend the week in Lake District National Park!

4. Have I posted these houses before? I still love them.
I want to make some sort of little village for xmas. Source.

5. These candles are supposed to create tree silhoettes.
I can surround myself in tree shadows in my own home?!
From West Elm. Expensive. Sad.

White deer figurine - mid century stylized ceramic porcelain fawn or deer
6. Finding things on Etsy that I love and ALREADY HAVE.
Plus I got it way cheaper. Happy. Thought.

Vintage 1960s Paint By Numbers - Farm Scene - 14x10 Painting - Framed
7. Suddenly I've realized how much happier I would be
if a wall in my bedroom was covered in vintage paint by numbers.
Is that weird? I don't even have any. I like this one.

bear stuffie . organic
8. I think I just instantly fell in love with everything in this Etsy shop.
I forced myself to pick a fav and this bear stuffie is it!
But go look at the rest of the shop - I also love the fox, whale,
owlet and songbird stuffies. Also the tree pillow.

Did you pick up on the theme? It happened all by itself.
Which is your favorite? Any happy thoughts I'm missing out on?

Thursday Happy Thoughts

Thursday Happy Thoughts
This week I'm keepin' it simple. Three things! Enjoy.

1. This paint by number wall mural.
I love the scene and the colors she chose! More photos here.

2. This song. It spontaneously played before the badminton
match today and I had flashbacks to 1) Andriana and Jesse's wedding
(unofficial theme song) and 2) being a dorky little kid at Skate King.
I would request this song and then skate around by myself with my arms
out just like MJ in the video. You know, with the flowing white shirt?
Yeah, I was pretty awesome.

3. Ok speaking of dorks, I am loving the new show
The New Girl! I finally started watching on Hulu and decided
to get Tivo again because I'm hooked.

The end. Thanks for reading!

Thursday Happy Thoughts

It's been months...but it's back!
Here are my Thursday Happy Thoughts...

crochet wreath tutorial
1. Pretty yarn wreath. This is part of a tutorial that ends
in a fancy crocheted wreath, but I think a simple yarn-wrapped
one is more up my alley. Project time.

2. Walking to school. I had my physics class at UW
this evening and I was able to walk there and back without
getting too hot, cold, or soaked. Perfect!

Thanksgiving Dessert Plates
3. These pretty Thanksgiving plates from West Elm.

4. Bryan John Appleby. I'm obsessed right now.
He's local so many of his songs aren't available to listen to online.
I LOVE this song of his and I know I've posted it before, but oh well!
Other songs to look for: Noah's Nameless Wife and Honey Jars.
Both songs make me cry because they are freaking sad but SO beautiful.

Tree stump coaster set
5. Elsie's tutorial for stump coasters. I want to try this!

6. Having a discussion with my students
about which of the Step Up movies was the best.
We all agreed that the rain scene in Step Up 2 was pretty epic.

diy fabric feathers
7. These gorgeous fabric feathers!
100 Layer Cake has a tutorial. I love everything about them.

8. I am SO in love with this dress from Modcloth.
Confession: I ordered it already. I couldn't help myself.
The colors, the print, the style...I love everything about it!
It will be perfect paired with sweaters and boots or moccasins for Fall.

Trend Alert - Animal Face Sweaters!
9. This dorky awesome deer sweater.
Confession: I did not order this. But I covet thee, sweater. Truly.

10. Having my weekend homework done
before the weekend is even here. Last night was a productive evening.

So many things to be happy about.
I have some estate finds to post about this weekend, too.
Stay tuned!
